Mechanical problem or opportunity?

Below is a report filed by Germ on some recent testing he performed with his enduro. All part of the continual and stringent preperation we are all conducting to assure this ride goes as smoothly as we all expect it will.

“Took the bike out on its first longer ride the other day to test it out.  We were going to go around St. Helens but half way up the back side I heard what sounded like a f*cking bomb and instantly lost all power.  I shot the sparkplug out of the head.  So we coasted down and found a spot to camp.  I took a spare plug and some hard setting silicone and installed it.  I let it sit over night and the next day it fired right up and rode home.  So now I have a couple major tasks before the ride.  First off I have to heli coil the head.  It runs really hot so I have to adapt an oil cooler to it and improve the airflow to the head.  First gear is on the way out also so I should look into that.  There is some pretty epic smoke coming out of the exhaust so probably some rings as well.  Over all I couldn’t be happier with the bike though.  It handles great and has a ton of power.  It also fits in to my burnout lifestyle pretty well too.” - Germ
